January 18, 2010

From Sunday Message: 01/17/2010:

In my personal Belief System, I know that we all have Primary and secondary Purposes for being alive here and  now. My secondary Soul Purpose has been in supporting the founding of ASLC: In supporting Rev. Ouida during the founding of her Vision.

There are times when our humanness locks into a secondary purpose and loses focus on the Primary one. All my energy was going into ASLC in the form of support. This was good – for some period of time – and then it began feeling forced. I guess you could say I moved from supporting the Vision to holding it back. Rather than focusing on my unique purpose I was hanging unto Rev. Ouida’s coat tails so I couldn’t return to my own Vision, My Primary Soul Purpose. I seem to continue to have an all or nothing attitude in where my energy goes.

Yet, you know, we are subject to natural Law just as the Earth, the Universe is. When we get too stuck, too rigid, too stubborn, it takes a metaphysical earthquake to push us past our comfort zone. Just as Haiti is experiencing a natural disaster, we have experienced a virtual, small, personal one in this community. Yes, the destruction of human life in Haiti is tragic, but it was not caused by the Devil or by God as individual entities. It was caused by natural physical Laws of creation. And I believe that our Souls, on occasion, must take drastic action to get us back on our primary track.

I am forever grateful for every moment that I gave to The Home of Truth and to ASLC– Because I received so much more in return. It was always the Interfaith part of ASLC that excited me. It is a direct result of going through “One Light Interfaith Seminary” and a mentoring session with Br. Morten (Mystic Cottage) that I discovered Deism. One of our assignments was to research alternative religions and spiritual practices. Deism information from http://positivedeism.org

We can also give too much importance to an activity that brings us joy. For example my love of music and singing is FUN and I need to keep it “just for fun”. I had another personal earthquake on Tuesday. I was in a car accident. I am so grateful that no one was injured, but my car was totaled.

I had turned the wrong direction on Hagenburger road – I was on my way to my friend, Val’s home to rehearse our song 10-Year celebration for Cathy, I mentioned earlier. Etc, etc.

Some of you heard my “Auto Body Experience” story. Well this one is very different. I got the message [AGAIN]that my attention and intention needed to go back to my primary Soul purpose. Everything just seemed to click into place, my insurance co. was so helpful, got a rental car for a week and I obtained a pre-approved auto loan, now all I have to do is go shopping for a new car. When we get back on track, things just seem effortless.

My Primary Purpose: I believe my Soul Purpose is to remind everyone I come in contact with, in an everyday way, that we all have one!  My next two books will be ‘Soul Inspired’ – just as my first one was.

Both Eastern and Western Religions have managed to make reincarnation very complicated or non-existent. It doesn’t have to be. In my Deist way of reasoning in my Spiritual Evolution – my book shelves (and boxes) are dominated by “Soul” books: I came across a book called “Old Souls: The Scientific Evidence for past lives”- Author: Tom Shroder. The many, many cases of children’s accounts of past lives that psychiatrist and scholar, Dr. Ian Stevenson has investigated for more than three decades.

A few other examples are: Thomas Merton’s “Care of the Soul” and “Soul Mates” --- “Soul Wisdom-I” by Dr. Zhi Gang Sha, is about Soul language, Soul Song, Movement, Tapping and Dance. ---- “Courageous Souls” by Robert Schwartz, is about the possibility that our Souls get together and plan our lives each time around. And Jane Robert’s, “Seth” books.

From: “A Guide for the Advanced Soul” by Susan Hayward.

“You must begin to trust yourself. If you do not, then you will forever be looking to others to prove your own merit to you, and you will never be satisfied. You will always be asking others what to do, and at the same time resenting those from whom you seek such aid.”

For me, this quote does not mean that I should never consult other Spiritual Teachers. It just means that I must seek support from others who are walking the path with me, when doubt begins to creep in. So I leave you today with this thought:

Begin a Love Affair with your Soul!  Become the Lover of Your Own Soul.
